Everyday Icons / Hiding In Plain Sight (Abu Dhabi)
No.0009 - Erth (fka Armed Forces Officers Club), Khor Al Maqta, Abu Dhabi

Designed by French architect Roger Taillibert and completed in 1997, the building formerly known as the Armed Forces Officers Club was recently relaunched as Erth. It’s another of my favourite structures in Abu Dhabi. If its exterior form was not already striking enough, the huge internal atrium space really takes your breath away. Fun fact: Roger Taillibert was also responsible for designing the Parc des Princes in Paris and the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
