The Abu Dhabi Stadium was completed in 1980 and designed by French architects Henri Colboc, Pierre Dalidet and George Philipp. Its distinctive concrete arches make it a landmark in the capital, and the centerpiece of the wider Zayed Sports City complex.

With a capacity of 45,000 (reduced from an original 60,000 following renovations in 2009), the stadium has hosted some big names including the Fifa Club World Cup, Muhammad Ali, Bon Jovi, George Michael and the Pope!
