No.0036 - No. 522, Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street
The second in my short series of photographs showcasing some lower profile / unassuming buildings on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street.
As you drive / walk down Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, Building No. 522 stands out from its neighbors. At eleven storeys high, it’s considerably smaller than the surrounding modern towers.
Equally contrasting is its architectural treatment. Composed of sandy brick cladding and beige-pink spandrels and balcony panels incorporating arched heads and cills, the elevations have a really nice depth to them. This is emphasized further when the sun hits the building and casts shadows across its surface. I also like the simple rooftop crown created by a geometric concrete grid structure.
