Everyday Icons / Hiding In Plain Sight (Abu Dhabi) No.0005

The fifth post in my series ‘Everyday Icons / Hiding In Plain Sight (Abu Dhabi)’

Everyday Icons / Hiding In Plain Sight (Abu Dhabi)
No.0005 - Building No.621, Hamdan Street, Abu Dhabi

I haven’t been able to find out any information about this building. I don’t know who designed it, or when it was built. What I do know is that I kind of like it. It has a real presence on the street despite its inferior size! When I first moved to Abu Dhabi a decade ago, I lived very near to this building and I’d often walk past it on my way to work. I’ve always enjoyed the playful facade composition and the way the light and shadow play across it through the day. If anyone knows any more about this building, please share as I would love to know more about its history…
